Rum Barrel Chunks from American Oak Barrels that have held genuine Queensland Rum.

Use 100g of Pure Distilling Rum Barrel Chunks per litre of spirit as a general guide or to your personal taste. For best results we have found that 3 soakings gives the best results and yield.

First Soaking: add 2.5 litres spirit to 500g of Pure Distilling Chunks and leave to soak 16-24 days. Drain the spirit from the chunks and filter through a filter paper to remove any dust particles. This should be kept for your personal stock.

Second Soaking: Add a further 2.3 litres of spirit and soak for 30-45 days depending on taste, drain and filter as per first soaking. this is good for the usual tipple and for visitors.

Third Soaking: Add a further 2.3 litres of spirit and soak for a minimum of 2 months depending on taste, drain and filter as per first soaking. The third soaking can be improved by adding your favourite rum essence.
